Lili Kayano

Lili Kayano

Hi, my name is Lili Kayano. I am a Licensed Master Social Worker - Intern. I've always been passionate about mental health and holistic approaches to health care.  I started working in the field in 2014 with at-risk populations, and I quickly realized the impact of trauma on one's ability to live a healthy life.  Through my work with female inmates, I became more interested in attachment and childhood trauma, as I could not help but wonder what would have happened if my clients had received the help they needed when they were still young.  That question ultimately led me to work with children and families as well.  I have been trained in EMDR and Parts and Memory, modalities mainly known for their efficacy addressing trauma wounds, but equally efficient to the treatment of anxiety and depression, since these can usually be traced back to past incidents.  As I tell those I work with, I cannot carry your burdens for you, but I can carry them with you.  I will hold a place of self-empathy and acceptance until you can do that on your own.  The healing journey can be quite empowering and liberating, and it would be an honor to embark on that journey with you.  Sou fluente em portugues y estoy tomando clases para mejorar mi fluidez en espanol.
